Coffee Talk is a women’s ministry of Life Chapel International in Shonandai. Our vision is to bring American and Japanese women together to ponder together the stuff of life, love, and other mysteries. Some topics we try to cover include marriage, beauty, friendship, parenting, getting/staying organized, and more. Each month, we have a theme or topic, and build a 2-hour program around that theme. A typical Coffee Talk program consists of music, fun games, an English mini-lesson, a special speaker who either teaches to a specific topic of their expertise or shares their personal story with us, open discussion time (in English), and an opportunity for those in attendance to hear the message of the Gospel.

Also, here are some important details about Coffee Talk:
1) There is plenty of parking, so you can drive there yourself if you want to. I can easily email you a map (in Japanese) how to get to the parking spots. It even has photos!

2) If you need a ride or you would like to follow someone to Life Chapel, there will be a pick-up time of 9:00am every month at the Atsugi Main Gate. If it is too difficult for you to come to the Atsugi Main Gate, PLEASE tell us, and we can make a plan to pick you up somewhere else. The church is kind of far from Shonandai Station–at least, it’s too far to walk probably. Unless you’re hoping to get some exercise before Coffee Talk.
3) We now have childcare available for small children for only 500Y per child for the entire two hours! Please let us know if you would like to use the childcare, so that we can prepare the babysitter for how many kids she will be taking care of. Also, please pay your 500Y to Barbara Stuart at the end of each Coffee Talk in which you have used the babysitter.
4) We are changing the event to a “potluck” event. So IF YOU CAN, but you don’t have to, please bring some tasty food to share with the other ladies. We are expecting from 20-30 ladies to come each month, so make enough for everyone to try a little! Life Chapel has generously offered to provide all our drinks and eating utensils each month.
